The Westfield YMCA Wave swim team is a competitive swimming program for swimmers ages 5-18 years. The concept “everybody swims – everybody wins” is the foundation for competition in all age groups. Our program emphasizes the development of life skills and character as well as swimming techniques, training, expertise and competitive success. We also focus on teaching the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We believe that excellence in swimming is a pathway to excellence in life. The Westfield Wave is one of the top age group teams in Western Massachusetts. Swimmers can compete at the local, New England, or national level depending on their ability.The Wave offers a number of competitive choices for swimmers from beginner to elite. We participate in the Western Massachusetts District Y League in both winter and summer. We also attend regional and zone championships in YMCA and USS swimming and bring swimmers consistently to YMCA Short Course and Long Course national championships.
